Sun. March 22, 1-3pm: Em(Bodied): A free workshop with Writer Anastacia Tolbert. TPR has been following Anastacia in the making of her upcoming One-Woman show, 9 Ounces, which debuts this coming July. Join us for this cross-genre workshop in which Anastacia will share aspects of her creative process.

Sat. April 11, 1-2pm: Who's Musing Who?: An intimate dialog with Interdisciplinary Artist Tameka Norris discussing intellectual property, authorship, and socioeconomic status as it relates to personal legacy in a digital era.

Mon. April 27, 7-8pm: Legacy Assignment Series II: If a Handful of Matches is Thrown to the Floor. Performance Artist and Poet Sierra Nelson questions the roles divination, science, and artistic practice play in our understanding of the past and our choices for the future. She’ll be joined by her longtime collaborator Rachel Kessler to bookend the conversation with some live experiments.

Mon. May 4, 6-7pm: Breathing the Water: Short Films about Denise Levertov. Author Rebecca Brown, Poet Jan Wallace, and TPR host this evening remembering the great American poet, activist, and teacher Denise Levertov. This event is part of a city-wide celebration of Levertov culminating on May 16th, Seattle's Denise Levertov Day.

Thur. May 14, 7-8:30pm: A Toast to 9 Ounces! @ 10 Degrees. This is a ticketed ($25) fundraiser for 9 Ounces: A One-Woman Show and will be held @ 10 Degrees in Capitol Hill! Writer and Performer Anastacia Tolbert will give a special behind-the-scenes sneak peak into the three characters of her forthcoming production, 9 Ounces. Come meet Alice, Luna, and Saraphina as they are interviewed by TPR Editor, Tessa Hulls.

9 OUNCES: A ONE-WOMAN SHOW @ The Project Room!

Since October 2014, The Project Room followed Anastacia Tolbert in the making of this monumental work. 9 Ounces stars Alice, Luna & Saraphina. Using the audience as mirror, epiphany and diary, three narratives crochet themselves around evolving frames. This unkempt, de-ribbon-ed braid dangling crooked parts is not to be missed. All performances will be held at The Project Room. General admission performances are FREE. Required tickets available 5/14/14; click on the dates below to link to Stranger Ticket Sales.

2013

THE MAKING OF THESE STREETS:

Join The Project Room from February 15 – March 15, 2013 from Tuesdays – Saturdays 11am-3pm , for a month-long event series and on-site installation about THESE STREETS. View oral history interviews featuring women from Seattle’s 1990s music community, play your favorite records from that time, and look at lots of posters and personal photos shared by those who were there.

Thursday February 14, 6-8pm: DJ Scott Vanderpool (KCMU DJ, followed by KXRX, KISW and most currently KZOK; also drummer in numerous Seattle bands then and now) spins his favorite 1990s music for a lively reception in celebration of THESE STREETS. [Note that THESE STREETS does not open at ACT until the following week.]
