Introducing: Failure

Jess Van Nostrand January 2, 2012

The role that failure plays in creativity is discussed far less than the inner workings of success. Following the “Solutions” series, TPR turns its attention to the intimidating, yet productive, topic of Failure.

Through events and online content, the role that failure plays in creativity will be addressed from different points of view. Looking both in- and outside of the arts,Failure will offer a diverse series of programs for anyone curious about how failure inspires, informs and drives creativity.

Join us for a unique program series: Successful People Talking About Failure, beginning in December.

Above image: Photograph of the abandoned town of L’Aquila, Italy by Veit Stratmann. From the artist: “I took pictures of those hugely oversized (and very beautiful and precious-looking) scaffoldings that were officially meant to maintain the place, but are so difficult and expensive to take down now that they make it kind of impossible to actually start rebuilding. They are structures meant to maintain hope, but actually through their beauty they destroy the hope they were ment to keep alive.” More of Veit’s work in L’Aquila will be featured throughout the Failure series.
